Boquete, Panama

Pictures from Paradise Gardens. Most of the animals are being nursed back to health and set free. The toucan was a pet prior to its arrival therefore he will stay. The owls were found in the forrest and had fallen from their nest. In time they will be set free. The baby anteater's mother was electricuted only a week after he was born so he is being taken care of here.
Mi Jardin es su Jardin. A private residence but open for public to walk around.

Our host family is just a couple minutes from school. In this picture you can see our house in the background and this is the entrance to the school.
We arrived here in Boquete on Sunday. The weather is like a perfect fall day in Alabama during the day and chilly at night. The wind is very strong, as long as you are in the sun it's nice. We have been staying with a host family this week, Melva y David. Melva cooks breakfast and dinner for us everyday...Es sabroso! We have been quite busy this week with school and seeing Boquete this week. There are many beautiful gardens, views, mountains. There is a river that runs through the town, Rio Caldera. There are many coffee farms here. We went on a tour with one of them, Cafe Ruiz. They have recently won multiple gold medals at coffee competitions for having the best coffee in the world. Panama is also one of the smallest coffee producing companies in the world. We also toured an animal rescue center. A couple moved here from England with intentions to only have a beautiful garden for their birds, however over the past 5 years they have become a rescue center for unhealthy and abused animals in which most are released back to the nature once they have recovered.
