Isla Ometepe, Nicaragua

cashews on the tree

A sunset view from our porch.

A view of the two volcanoes from the ferry ride over.

July 6-July 8

Isla Ometepe is the biggest freshwater island in the world formed by two volcanoes. Lava flows created isthmus between the two. There is a lot of agriculture on the island, mainly plantains and coffee. We spent a couple nights at a quiet little place right on the lake with beautiful sunset views. The two volcanoes are Concepcion and Maderas. We hiked Volcan Maderas. You will not see any pictures because it is a hike we do not want to remember.
