Did you ever think your old school bus would one day look like this and be public transporation in Panama?
June 7 - July 1
So Panama has basically home base for us during this trip. We arrived back in the city for the 3rd time on Sunday, June 7. Since we had some planning to do and were not really sure when we would be leaving for our adventure north, we decided to use our time wisely and take more Spanish classes. We ended up taking 3 more weeks, now a total of 8 weeks. And to answer your question; no, we are not fluent yet! During our 3 week stay here in the city we took a couple weekend trips to nearby islands. The first weekend we went to Archipielago de las Perlas. Some of you may have heard of the Pearl Islands, named for the large pearls that can be found there, although the pearl diving is not as popular as it used to be. It is also now famous for the show Survivor being filmed on one of the islands. Another weekend we took a trip to Isla Grande, a 2 minute boat ride off the coast of Panama in the Caribbean.
