Grinding corn for the corn tortilla dough. They have tortillas and pupusas all over El Salvador. A pupusa is a corn tortilla stuffed with cheese, beans, etc. and typically served with a cabbage salad on top.

A view of Lake Suchitlan

Suchitoto is a pretty colonial city about an hour north of San Salvador overlooking Lake Suchitlan. It was a nice place to stopover for a night and enjoy the scenery. The books seem to describe a lot of these towns we have visited as a place where the whole town comes out on their porch every afternoon and "watches the world go by". We have found that is not always the case, however in this town it really seemed that was the case. The locals were friendly and welcoming and the town was quaint.
