A view inside the forest
Not the best picture due to the road being cut in, but this is a great example that shows the sedimentary formations. It is really amazing to see.

Joan and August drove up and met us in Flagstaff after our Grand Canyon trip. We had dinner in and stayed a night in Flagstaff. The next morning we checked out the Flagstaff farmer's market (purchased some mesquite and wildflower honey), had lunch at a favorite sandwhich shop of August's (he knows his food), and headed to the Petrified Forest.
